Foeniculum vulgare commonly called fennel has been used in traditional medicine for a wide range of ailments related to digestive, endocrine, reproductive, and respiratory systems. Additionally, it is also used as a galactagogue agent for lactating mothers.
The entire plant can be eaten both raw or cooked, and its abundant seeds can be made into soothing teas to aid in digestion. Boiling fennel seeds also make gripe water, which combats gas and colic in infants
